Captivating
March 7, 2011
Damn, it was
One of those bad days
When pessimism was on my mind
Icing myself I was, all the time trying
To myself, be kind.
Though, phase it was, of real time pressure
I decided to take a stroll
Lots of things were to be done, so u see
In terms of time a stroll was a heavy toll.
I started off in the woods
Of course, it was nothing new
I stepped on the soft grass
Wet with morning dew
Dawn, here it was
After a long night, so I rolled up my sleeves
As i looked up at the tall trees, I saw
The sun, breaking through the leaves
I walked on
From behind an aisle of trees, I saw
Butterflies hovering over flowers
Carefree and sweet.
Daffodils, in the morning air swayed
The leaves rustled beneath my feet
The air was cool and calm on my skin
A light breeze started, as if, escaped it had
From its hiding
It blew through my hair, lifting the load off my head
So much so, I found myself gliding
I came upon a pool, a resting place it would serve
Small it was, gathering the blue skies above
Rays of sun, the waters reflected
Like a thousand jewels
Breathtaking it was
Something very very novel
On a rock, nearby, I sat
Took inventory of the surroundings
I felt blessed here, far away from the ordeal
Such places are meant for healing a pained soul
Since times immemorial
I looked at the velvety road I had treaded
The flower laden banks
At the butterflies flying hither and tither
Problems, a while ago, which had been huge
Now, seemed a jest
The vistas out here were thrilling
Splendour irrevocably at its best
Such a beauty enthralled..
I looked at the pool
And I couldn't look away
It captivated....
The dark shades parted
I could feel a spark
Somethings never change
The stroll had saved me
Lots of stress,lots of whine
The pool had suprised me
Like everytime....
