Mauritius

My earliest memories of Mauritius are those of the vast stretches of sugarcane plantations on both sides of the road. We were driving to the resort we booked, our home in Mauritius for a few days. I was thrilled to be there, at the island nation in the Indian Ocean. I was excited and looking forward to experience the lure of seaside coupled with the liveliness of the city. We drove on roads surrounded by endless sugarcane fields. Winds ruffling in my hair, I managed to catch glimpses of the deep blue sea stretching into the horizon. The place screamed rosy romance and lazy leisure. At the resort, we were greeted with a glass of cool drink. We chatted with a few people as we waited at the reception for our check in. Tired as we were after the long flight, we sunk into the bed after a quick shower, immediately going into deep slumber. Goa..Our sand based paradise !!!!!!!!!

We were greeted by the pleasant, warm afternoon air as we rolled out our luggage through the airport doors at Dabolim airport, Goa. It was thrilling to be on a vacation again. (I never get enough of them!). We chose to stay on Varca beach which happened to be 35 kilometers south of Dabolim airport. The drive to Varca beach was scenic. As we drove on, we left the hustle and bustle behind and entered a calmer and quieter side of Goa. Cruising through the green countryside, I couldn’t help but get lost in my own feel of a paradise. Driving on those tree lined roads, crossing the countless, picturesque villas nestled amidst the lush greenery around, the cool and fresh air. We loved all of it. It was beauty undefined. We checked in our resort and were given one of the corner villas. Once in our room, I quickly arranged our things in the cupboard.
